WHAT IS RADON?
Radon is the off-gas of decaying uranium deposits and is commonly found throughout the continental United States. Radon migrates up from the ground and tends to collect inside structures. The radon gas can neither be seen nor smelled. Radon is one of the country's leading causes of lung cancer, second only to cigarette smoking. In some areas of the country, as many as one out of every two homes has higher than acceptable radon levels. Radon levels can soar during the colder months when residents keep windows and doors closed, and spend more time indoors.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU?
The EPA has projected that more than 20,000 individuals die from lung cancer each year in the United States due to exposure to indoor radon. This alarming statistic is made even more unsettling because the detection for radon in a home or business is relatively simple and inexpensive, and remediation is highly effective.

RADON SERVICES
Testing for radon is common in private and commercial real estate transactions. Many states require registration and/or certification for testing. HydroTech maintains all certifications and meets all state and federal regulations.

HOW CAN HYDROTECH HELP?

A simple telephone call can initiate the process to end your concerns over dangerous radon levels. HydroTech will conduct a 48-hour test to determine the current levels. If levels are above the thresholds for safe inhabitancy, as established by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, options for long-range testing or remediation will be addressed. The process is generally quick, painless and effective.
